What is Property Sleuth?Property Sleuth is an online market-share reporting tool. It enables you to monitor your online market presence, as well as that of your competitors. What does it do?
The product has been developed in an easy-to-use format, providing regularly updated information in pie chart, bar graph and downloadable list formats. There is a wide variety of information you can search, including who is successfully selling property, who is winning new instructions and which addresses you may want to target. How do I use it?
After signing up and logging in, enter the postcode you are interested in monitoring. You will then be taken to a search page, providing you with a range of options.
We would suggest spending some time making your selection in the "filter" bar, which runs horizontally along the top of the page. Here, you can be selective about which competitors you want to monitor. Using the
drop-down menus, you can also select particular criteria such as price bands, the type of property, number of bedrooms and whether it has sold already.
After making your selection, simply hit the "Search" button
and your results will be displayed immediately. The central area of your screen will automatically display the information you have selected to view.
How can I view my information?
We offer your results in a range of formats. The system can generate bar graphs or pie charts for you, or you can view a list of all the data for the appropriate area. To change between these, simply click the buttons at the bottom of your screen.
Am I limited to just one search?No – you can search as many times as you want! If you want to alter the selection criteria originally chosen click on the drop-down menus in the horizontal bar, select your new choices and click the "Search" button again. The screen will automatically refresh itself. I can't see all of the properties for sale in my area.
When there are more than 20 properties, the data view splits these between pages. Just choose a new page at the bottom of the screen to view more. Alternatively, you can export a full list. How can the information be broken down?
There are 10 additional options you can select to view that are shown in the list on the left-hand side of the screen.
You can use these options to look at more specific information in your postcode
selection and analyse statistics such as how long properties are remaining on the market, who is winning new instructions and who is converting most effectively.
All of these options should help you to understand your market and challenge where future effort can be targeted.
What can I do with the information?
The Print and Export buttons at the bottom of the screen enable you to capture the information you want on to your computer, as well as downloading property lists for canvassing.
We encourage the sharing of information provided by Property Sleuth with your team. It will help to set targets to yield more effective results.
